I was going through my pictures from the Artemis II press event with my 6 year old (we do this for every space-related business trip I go on) and we got to this picture, and he asked what it was. I explained it’s the leading edge of a Space Shuttle wing (and what that means.)

I’ve been working on a sweater for my Star Wars obsessed 6 year old for awhile now and I’m so close to being done. Currently seaming on the sleeves, then it’s just the collar.

Aurora alert! It’s possible the aurora boralis may be visible tonight as far south as Alabama. Start looking tonight after dark around 10 pm

(I’ve attached both the NOAA and University of Alaska maps, the former is always very conservative with view lines)

Genuinely: A perfect example of what I’m talking about. Everyone assumes that when I talk about harassment over SpaceX, I get it from the right. That’s not actually my experience as much these days. (Please do not track this person down, I blacked out the identifying info for a reason.)

If you are a visa holder/temp resident in the U.S., and your child was born here and doesn't have a passport, GET A PASSPORT FOR THEM IMMEDIATELY. Like, make the appointment this week.

The FAA will require a mishap investigation before Starship can fly again. There are currently no reports of injury due to falling debris.

This is the statement I got from the FAA:
January 17, 2025 at 5:51 PM
I emailed the FAA and specifically asked (1) if they’d be opening a mishap inquiry and (2) if they would, once again, allow SpaceX to investigate itself. Here’s what I got. Looking forward to an updated statement tomorrow.

Blue Origin’s New Glenn launch currently NET than Friday, January 10. Keep in mind that’s also the date SpaceX is targeting for the next test flight of Starship.
