Thanks to everyone who came along to my most recent coffee morning in Swansea.

Politics isn't always great, especially when it's done online. So I'm pleased people found our old fashioned, 3D discussions a positive experience.

I spent many happy hours in this reading room when it was part of Swansea Library. It’s now part of @uwtsd.bsky.social and hosted the annual IWD Jessie Donaldson lecture. What a treat to spend more time here again.

The Deer’s Leap is indeed a great #Swansea pub and as @torstenbell.bsky.social says it’s a very good idea to start and finish any door knocking session at a pub!
Out and about by the Deer’s Leap this morning. There are some big advantages to starting and finishing your door-knocking session at a great pub

A big thank you to @torstenbell.bsky.social for his time talking with @uwtsd.bsky.social MBA students today. It was so interesting and informative. #swansea

I’ve been terrified by the prospect of a nuclear war ever since my mother took me to Greenham Common as a child. This book isn’t helping.

Thrilled to get an email from @cipd.bsky.social confirming I have successfully upgraded to chartered fellow. What a great way to finish 2024.

If you have a bit of time over the holidays and can get to Cardiff I highly recommend visiting Cardiff Museum. It currently has a really interesting exhibition about the miners strike.

While the storm still rages, I’ve been re-watching Downton Abney and remembering just how tedious I found the whole Bates storyline

At this point, I’m just assuming that the men defending Gregg Wallace probably behave in questionable ways towards women.

Now that I spend so much time sitting outside the pub where my son works part time, I’ve never been so happy to have Audible.

Son’s 3rd uni offer came in today. So far, all good offers but not the one he wants. I don’t remember feeling this nervous for my own uni offers.

Last night was mixed. Chaired our Swansea West CLP meeting and went straight to a gig at the Patti Pavilion with my son. I reckon it won’t be long before he won’t want to be gigging with his mother.

My son got his first university offer and I think I am more excited than when I got my own offers back in the day.

Equal pay day today. Since we’ve had equal pay legislation since 1970, it’s really disappointing that there continues to be a pay gap in 2024.
