Exactly, the hardcore is fine with PCs…but most people I know who play games want to do so on their couch, not at a desk.
They have MacBooks and no reason to ever get a pc or futz around with drivers, installs etc.
Maybe the steam machine will fill that, if it’s as easy as a console to use.

I imagine the venue alone is extremely expensive. The expenses for this, teamsters, labor, audio visuals, marketing, etc etc etc. I imagine hundreds, if not more, ultimately work on this in some capacity.

I would agree with that but, while I would argue the old world of social media was also deficient in assessing “cultural impact” of the general public, those entire systems/ecosystems for sharing that stuff is completely shattered
