The attack on DC (and Chicago and LA) is about more than general hostility or making cheap real estate in desirable locations. It's about punishing non-white, especially black, Americans. DC in particular is a testament to black American wealth, so naturally Trump wants it obliterated.

This has a real "if you're on food stamps, you can't ever buy steak" vibe. It's not enough to be poor. You need to be poor AND miserable for the wealthy to be happy.
