And ultimately publishers want to sell books. It was encouraging that the quality of the work was strongly affirmed, but disappointing that, frankly, a lot of Christian fiction is mostly fluff, and that sells. Oh well.

They said their Christian fiction audience consumes mostly romance or romance-adjacent books, and “AItheist” was too sci-fi, theological, and idea-driven rather than relationship-driven.
