The Supreme Court has now confirmed that it is no longer interested in the law, only granting republicans power.

Sounds like another job for the Ohio Supreme Court. They recently ruled (twice!!) that "no reasonable person" would ever expect boneless chicken wings to NOT have any bones.

Definitely Theoden. I mean I like the movie "Elf" and Will Farrell really pulls off that sense of innocent realism. But Xmas really wears me down. One's sense of hope can only be torn asunder so many times before it becomes painful.

I was more a fan of socrates, than plato. I think plato spun the master too much in his fan fiction. Especially in the republic. I liked the early dialogues where the gadfly on the ass of society ends in aporia (speechlessness/wonder) in the face of truth's ungraspibility.

I never was able to appreciate Kerouac's version of zen. It seemed mostly unrepentant hedonism for its own sake. He liked sex but not women. He could turn a good phrase every now and then.

I sit regularly with a local Soto Zen group. They are the least objectionable of my buddhist options. I mostly practice Shikantaza meditation. I am a secular buddhist who studies the self to forget the self.

But I don't get that they believe in a god. Suppose I told you I believed in an alien orbiting in cloaked space ship who was very concerned about what people do and wanted me to do things to please him. Would you feel comfortable with me keeping things to myself? Or want to lock me up? #atheist
