Nuclear power reactors also suck in and kill fish, sea turtles, and other aquatic life. They even sucked in two scuba divers in Florida on separate occasions! 😬

They also discharge heated water into oceans and rivers. That's not good for the environment.

I really don't know what you see in them.

Nuclear power reactors also emit carbon-14.

"We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors.
We borrow it from our children."

We don't need nuclear energy, fossil fuels, or nuclear weapons.

Here is a very long thread on a variety of nuclear issues that I normally have pinned:

"If Eisenhower’s speech had been 'Renewables for Peace,' it would have been much more accurate, and if all the global resources that went into nuclear had gone into renewables instead,... we could have been ahead of where we are today by 1990 at the latest."

Geopolitics Of Nuclear Generation Delayed Renewables By Decades To Fossil Fuel Industry Benefit, Our Detriment - CleanTechnica
It’s deeply unfortunate that nuclear geopolitics massively extended our use of fossil fuels and delayed renewables.

@willshackel.bsky.social You complain about nuclear power disinformation, provide banana / nuclear power disinformation, then complain that you're being attacked?
😮‍💨🤦🏼‍♀️

Bananas contain natural radiation, potassium-40, that our bodies are equipped to regulate.
No special gear for workers.

Grace Stanke Vanderhei used some of her time as Miss America 2023 to encourage school children to seek jobs in the nuclear industry. She claimed she was a nuclear engineer before she completed her degree.

Waiting for new nuclear to be built rather than cheaper, faster to build solar, wind, and storage now is one heck of a way to exacerbate the climate crisis.

This is fascinating, but it's after midnight for me. Goodnight and good luck to us all.

Nuclear is not as safe as solar and wind or insurance companies would insure them and the U.S. wouldn't have to have the Price-Anderson Act.

It will never cost hundreds of billions of dollars for a renewable energy disaster:

Fukushima's Final Costs Will Approach A Trillion Dollars Just For Nuclear Disaster - CleanTechnica
There’s a case for an identifiable $800 billion in costs for the nuclear portion of the Fukushima disaster so over 40 years hitting a trillion is easy.

So different... Renewable energy doesn't even need a fuel source! Free sun, wind, and water flowing. Nuclear power plants have too many issues to list. We don't need them or fossil fuels.
