I just couldn't believe that there wasn't really a genuine Israeli pro-Palestinian/resistance movement. What an idiot I was. How naive.

I remember asking "surely there are Israelis that stand with you, surely they come out to defend you? Surely not all of them can be ok with this??" she looked at me with pity & some (rightful, weary) disdain. I'd failed to hear what her. She was right. I'm embarrassed I asked the question.

I remember, I think it was in 2022/3 I went to hear some women from Palestine speak, on a Women's Voices from Palestine tour that a friend helped to organise. They took questions from the floor after relating the terrible, traumatic experiences of themselves and their children. To my shame.....

The protests I've seen in Israel have been very limited, very self centred, self pitying, self interested. It's quite shocking. Where is the Israeli resistance?
