Artist. Observer. Painter of abstracted landscapes.

"...as a painter, my language is line and color and shape. they are my tools. they are my voice. made visible..."

"...the question is never what am I looking at; the question is: what do I see?"
Today felt like spring in New England!
Temps in the 50s. And sunny. Just a little breeze. It was great to putter around outside & not be freezing! ☺️

Our Five Points Annex Group show is in its final week. Such a beautiful show (if I do say so myself)

Today's color is B L U E .

Why? Because #musetree loves blue.

Despite the cold (it was 17°F when I woke up) the skies have transitioned beautifully from pale blue to wispy rippled clouds to A BIG BRIGHT BLUE!

MUSETREE was just caught reaching up with her tippy top branches to touch blue

Small watercolors today. This is my creative hibernation season (Midwinter) but sometimes you just have to SHOW UP!

2 small watercolor & graphite wash sketches, 6x6.
Just because these scenes caught my eye

Yesterday, out of the blue,
I felt l an overwhelming urge
to walk among green growing things.
To see their vibrant colors,
to touch their tender leaves,
to breathe the air they breathe.

It's a midwinter thing.
The need for green 💚

It's a Midwinter Thing

Even as I absorb the stark, sharp, raw, elemental beauty around me
And plan new work that reflects the uncommon wonders of the winter landscape, I find myself dreaming of spring.

A quiet day. Reflective. Some reading, some writing in my journal and preparing to let go of what is no longer needed and embrace the new in 2025

Excited! I just ordered these today. I had to have them shipped bc no stores around here carry this size. These 30x30 canvases are one of my favorite sizes. Singly or grouped. 👍👍👍

I puttered around in the studio this afternoon.

Started taking photos & reviewing all the kids.

It's always good to be among them.

Trees, hills, woods, meadows, fields, all inside my studio walls.

My world as seen through the kitchen window.
Water fall.
A drenching rain here. Raindrops hit the glass and skitter across its surface like they are performing some kind of frenzied rain dance.

Writing this morning, fresh sketches later. Loving the tracery of bare branches against the blank canvas of a pale grey misty sky. December 10 2024
