I’m a family demographer studying rural/ urban differences. The stereotypes DOT may be relying on are out of date. In an article in Demography, my coauthors & I show that fertility rates have converged, while marriage is now slightly more common in urban areas.

Just wanted to let you know i finished your lovely book. I thoroughly enjoyed the premise, characters, dialogs, and relationships. It got a little cute toward the end but I was already immersed and decided it was forgivable. It was an easy read with some very thoughtful introspection. Thank you!

Small but important correction - 51% of people WHO VOTED. Lots of registered voters didn’t.

Then there’s those of us stuck here with all of them; many a conversation lately has started with business and ended with “what the hell just happened” and hugs/tears/solemn back slaps.

It’s been grim, thanks for asking

The person said that it was very, very simple logic that “wokeness” was responsible for the loss.

My favorite authors at @wonkettemedia.bsky.social put out the word that we were gathering here. I happened to find some of my favorite follows from Twitter and might have squeed in delight as I spammed that “follow” button. I’ve let others know, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
