I didn’t experience sexual harassment by professors, luckily, as a student in that era. But at my first internship my male boss responded to some random male colleague stopping by my office to say “Oh, I see this is take your daughter to work day” with “she’s not my daughter, she’s my mistress.”

Adapt the genre to the exigence, Jamelle! As the author, you literally have the authority. (I say this as a genre scholar, who also of course knows that genres are socially constructed, but can be changed!). Also, exigence=“an imperfection marked by an urgency” according to Lloyd Bitzer (1968).
