I submitted my PhD thesis on Monday 6th October 2025 after nine years (part-time). I’ve kept going through pregnancy, raising my son, the covid pandemic, and ill health. In the photo, I’m about to return my library books. Joy has re-entered my life!

Just received my teaching texts for the Creative Writing module Write after Reading that I’ll be teaching at the University of Exeter this term. Hoping that reading across genres will inspire my own short stories / novella. And poems about unexpected subjects.
