Almost finished! One of America's first author celebrities. Twain had an amazing memory & was a great story teller. A man of contradictions & disappointments. I was disappointed with the way he dealt with his daughter Jean & his weird obsession with young girls-- his "Angelfish".

We almost made it! We were successful at: Attain the Blessings of the Elves, Challenge Sauron, & "Sauman, Your Staff Is Broken". Frodo & Sam even made it to Mount Doom with 5 rings to spend, but he lost too much hope & was unable to Destroy the One Ring.

Had some eggplants from my garden, so I made the Caponata which can be put on crackers, baguette slices, etc.

I was prepared to dislike this book. While I'm a fan of magic & fantasy, I don't generally enjoy regency romance. But the book was well written overall & I enjoyed the story, especially the underlying theme of inequality between the sexes & those who set out to change it.

We finished our last game of Ticket to Ride Legends of the West with Earl & Jenni. What a campaign! Earl won the title of wealthiest Railroad Baron by a landslide. Now the game is ready for 1900s.
