and most importantly, saying yes to progress and working on ethical, better and safer iterations.

Cheers GitHub, cheers Microsoft, cheers to innovation!

Change will always challenge us. It’s okay to be critical, even necessary. Yet, let’s make sure we’re moving forward—normalizing transformation, investing in developer experience, embracing AI and platform engineering..

My first sticker I received when I joined Microsoft in 2018 was during a session with Eduardo Kassner, it was “🚫but we’ve always done it this way”, it literally stuck with me.

Is using GitHub Copilot agents the latest “Yes, but that’s not real programming”?

I often think back to that 17-year-old version of myself —the one who refused to accept limits imposed by outdated perspectives. That mindset didn’t just shape my career; it defined how I approach innovation today.

Today, technology is more exciting than ever (no superlative does it justice). At the same time the cost of “Yes, but..." is growing. It limits progress, stalls adoption, and keeps us from realizing the full potential of engineering advancements.

Challenging “Yes, but..." is what led me into software development at 17. I wanted to explore modern programming languages and frameworks, only to be told, “Yes, but that’s not real programming.” I’ve seen this same resistance time and time again.

Why? Because working with humans is never as simple as writing code. One recurring obstacle I see is the mindset of "Yes, but..." —a hesitation that holds organizations back from improving developer experience, refining engineering systems, and embracing innovation.

Reading this, you probably have a disruptor, innovator, or your own project in mind that proves just how fast things are evolving. Yet, many conversations I have today still center around unlocking human ingenuity and driving the adoption of innovative technologies and platforms.

It’s time for lawmakers to step in. Now. Depending on guidelines that are not enforced is not enough, depending on civil law is not enough.

I’d say contrast is key, dark mode works as long as you have high contrast, do not use blending colors, less text is more, and go for immersion. Same goes for light mode actually but it hurts my eyes 😅
