Cute but not an office dog. Barked the whole time. Left at lunch. This is her after we left. Happy as Larry.

My son just said: “why’s he put that picture up? He looks like Palpatine.” He’s not wrong! www.whitehouse.gov

Managed to make today a work walk day. OMG I needed it. Frazzled brain, sleepless night & a world of worry walked away.

In motion, the anxiety receded. The future is in front of you. Just one foot in front of the other. As soon as I stopped a tear would fall but then I’d keep going. Feeling better

Before, you’d probably laugh nervously at the thought of the US using The Handmaids Tale as a playbook but now, it’s not a matter of IF but a matter of when…. 1/

I’m trying to walk a million steps in 2025. It’s about 2,700 steps a day so should be achievable (even with bad days!)

If you fancy joining in. Head to the free Go Jauntly app and sign up to the Million March 💚

So in 2025, how many Friday’s can I walk in new places instead of being desk bound and laptop weary? That feels like a something worth doing. It’s not like I don’t put ALL the hours in already. 😅

Don’t be fooled by the cover. Not a Xmas read. Bleak, dark, incredibly close to a horrid devastating reality. I am very sad but it is a well-written, well-told story. I need a hug 😭 big applause to Rosa Rankin-Gee for Dreamland 💔

🤫 Sneak preview: Really excited about this new @gojauntly.bsky.social walking challenge, the Million March. It’s a 1 million steps challenge for 2025. It’s about 2.7k steps a day so quite achievable and great for those intimidated by the Walk 2025km distance challenge (🙋🏻‍♀️).

Launching very soon 😊

📚 Another book recco for bookish peeps (or Xmas pressie ideas?). Really enjoyed Fates & Furies by Lauren Groff. Fabulous storytelling, engrossing, helps escape reality, fantastic characters. Still thinking about it weeks later. Enjoy! 💜

I haven’t been able to walk my dog for over two weeks and I swear to god she’s stopped looking at me like I’m her Bessie. 😭

Just finished Percival Everett’s, The Trees and I am feeling deeply disturbed. Feels prescient. Trump’s America incoming.

It’s very absorbing, unsettling, sad and darkly comedic. Don’t read when ill and feverish or when falling asleep as you will see floating Cadavers everywhere. 😫

Another two fave reads from the year
📙 The Orbital - Samantha Harvey (she just won the booker prize! Had no idea it was gonna be that good when I spotted it). Reflective, absorbing, gentle.
📗 The Wren, The Wren - amazing characters, loved the familial complexity, haunting in so many ways. Superb!
