Illustrator, puppeteer, listening ear, arctophile. Working on polyglotity (Hey. It's a word.). Francophone, jeg snakker norsk. The German language vexes me ever, but I shall conquer it.

I aspire to remain an elderly ingénue.
Squirrel being impervious to my sweary rebuffs. Little show-off.

When the president does yet another stupid, illegal, unconstitutional thing, it is reassuring that one of the first people my grown kid wants to talk to about it is me.

As a puppeteer myself (I am a performer at a local Ren faire and do a lot of improv interaction with patrons), I have to put in my two cents.

When you interact with hate, it gives them fuel. You won't change the world by shouting back, so just walk away.

But never forget. And never forgive.

sent it off to my dad, her younger son, in college at Iowa State. It arrived on a Saturday when my dad was away for a long weekend. By the time he thought to get his mail at the campus post office, the student workers were ready to strike. He said you could smell it outside the building.

Once upon a time, we used to tease our Grama about the oregano she grew in her little garden. "Oh, sure," we'd nod knowingly, "of course it's oregano."

Not that Grama wouldn't have been a devoted pothead, had she ever unbent to try it.

Creeping charlie just doing its thing and inadvertently giving me a little bit of joy. No matter what happens in the human world, Nature always does its thing in perfect, innocent hope.

The sky this morning just before the sun rose was quietly inspirational. The grey clouds had a tear, and through that tear shone a brillaint clear sky dotted with a few gold-edged clouds.

We may be surrounded by darkness, but that darkness? It isn't having it all its own way anymore.

With my free time today because of the economic blackout and not going on Meta apps, I did 16 French lessons in Duolingo.

Foxen wonders how you found him, because he swears he was totally in stealth mode.

Last night was a night of strange dreams and... what have we here?

A screenshot from an advert interrupting my game play. Kind of cute, huh? Until you see the little red tie and blue suit on the lion behind the desk.

Aslan he is not.

Once upon a time, I went to boarding school but came home on the weekends. Sunday afternoons I'd prepare to return. Those were melancholy days in winter.

Sunday's light was a solemn blue, like those old days. I got that familiar tug at my heart, and felt it was because today our nation is wounded.

This is Foxen, who performs with me at our local Renaissance faire. He'd like you to know that he is 72nd in line for the throne of England, and that he is Speshal Friends with Queen Elizabeth I.
