I've got news: having emitted another 53 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases in a year and then making no progress in climate negotiations is backsliding.

One thing that's working in the Dutch energy transition (although further development of wind and solar is now slowing down). And we're not far from seeing this happen globally either.

NS International Railways tries to make international rail travel even harder. Screenshot by my daughter, travelling from Barcelona to Rotterdam today. App informs her that the train from Paris to Rotterdam leaves on the same platform at Gare du Lyon where the train from Barcelona arrives...

Tesla global car sales grew until two years ago; then they started a slow decline.

On the larger stations, there's hundreds of OV-bikes in the indoor bicycle parking (thousands in Utrecht). Most now have a lock that opens when you swipe your public transport card. And the rental is quite affordable: €4.65 for 24 hours.

In the Netherlands, we have the OV-fiets system, seamlessly connecting bike rental to train travel. On small stations, there's a bike rental 'vending machine'. Scan your public transport card, and it offers you a bike. On returning the bike, the machine asks if it was in good condition. Brilliant!

Finally, Dutch parliament (on initiative by D66) may determine that all political parties need to be open to members.
So far, the PVV was allowed to operate with only one member, by definition. Guess who.
