This is great! To note, the Boston Medical Center has a rooftop garden it uses to feed patients. 💚🌿

They also have rooftop solar that helps pay patients’ utility bills.

Actual “health” “care”.

It’s sadly still true that recycling is insufficient to meaningfully combat the plastic problem.

I think there are good intentions but systems are in place that allow for widespread abuse. Namely, offshoring plastic waste to Asia-Pacific countries will little-to-no regulations.

Also to note, while the video shows whole avocados being mixed, it is actually the avocado pit that is being used to make the bioplastic.

I think the video showed whole avocados at the onset so people understand what is being discussed/referenced.

That’s a fair question!

Despite our advanced logistics, food that has already been in the market long enough to determine that food will become waste, doesn’t leave adequate time to ship that food long distances and without soiling.

Expense is a second issue too.

Should go to locals in need!
