I need to pick a knitting pattern and finish it. All the #MaryMaxims.
The moose looks better than I remember and it has 2 sleeves and half a front. It will be quicker to finish so I'll do that one.
2 knitting works in progress, both Mary Maxim patterns. A beige moose in the woods and a white and black fish in the grey water.

How small is too small? Had these dog ears hanging around for about a month. Going to use them to stuff something. I wouldn't attempt to sew them together.

Wouldn't it be perfect if Dahlias were scented, or would that be too much?
A bunch of home grown dahlias in a jar of water. The blossoms are various shades of pink, light in the outer petals becoming darker in the centre. The flowers have no scent at all.

I made this in January.
A white background quilt with black lettering saying 'Presidents are not kings Plaintiff is not president Godspeed' The nots each have a red W over them so the not becomes now. The orange thread quilting is based on a broken Capital window from Jan 6th 2020. The binding is a multicoloured firework design. America, you've let him go too far.

I bet the Little House on the Prairie occupants didn't blend their soups. The Walton women probably had one child or another (girls only) blend to a fine mush on high days and holidays.

Several more rows done. I'm liking it but need to enlarge the 60 x 60 size. Not sure what with yet.
8 rows of a pieces quilt top spears on the carpeted floor, with spaces for the missing rows. The colours are red, green, blue, grey and white. The shapes are squares and triangles. All that's missing, besides the 3 rows, is a cat to lounge upon the part finished work.

Binding demystified.
Instructions for cutting bias binding and adding it to a quilt. It all seems very straightforward. What could go wrong... 'Turn it (the sewn on binding)over the edge and turn the raw edge under a scant 3/8 and whip it along the seam line on the back.'

From a new to me copy of American Quits and how to make them, by Carter Houck &Myron Miller, 1975.
Rejoice, there isn't a lot of expensive gadgets on the quilting market!
The book says There aren't even many tempting but useless gadgets on the market to lure the quilter and make her spend money. The largest item on her list is a quilting frame and that can be built at home quite simply.

4 rows down, it is very slow going with lots of unpicking. I need to be more systematic.
But I'm liking the look. I sewed one flower square upside down. Leave or unpick?
Some quilt blocks sewn into rows. Red, greens, grey, blue and white colours on flowery fabric. One camellia is sewn upside down, noticeable because the name is printed, in Latin, on the panel.

Now I need to go back and press seam open. There are some major lumps where 4 sets of seams meet.
The back of a HST quilt block sewn together so 4 blocks meet and present as many as 8 sets of seams. It do be lumpy in there!
