Most recently, Ensemble Resonanz opened the prestigious 'Mozartfest Würzburg' with Martines's “Symphony in C major,” and her “Dixit Dominus” will feature in the Keynote Concert: Mozart & Martines at the 'Five Cities Baroque Festival.'

Last year, she was celebrated at Lincoln Center's 'Summer for the City' festival in NYC, and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra included her work "Il Primo Amore” in their program at the 'Baltic Sea Festival.'

Martines was an extraordinary figure: a prolific composer, a keyboard virtuoso and singer, and the first woman ever inducted into the Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna.
Now, the world is finally catching up! I'm ecstatic to see her works featured at major international festivals.

Back in 2009, I wrote my MA thesis on the remarkable composer Marianna Martines. At the time, she was a hidden gem in music history, known mostly through the pioneering research of Dr. Irving Godt. Today, she is the cornerstone of my PhD dissertation.

The ones I know have simply disappeared. Shame? Fear? I try to be as open as I always am, but maybe it'll take some time, especially if they've been a cult member for years.
