On World #Wetlands Day. ~40% of the world’s aquatic species live and breed in wetlands. They act as sponges to absorb floodwater, hence key to reducing the impacts of extreme weather events in this era of #climatecrisis. Wetlands also support livelihoods for at least 1 in 8 people.
