I'm so sad I just barely missed it while I was visiting Kyoto last year 😭 I just had to visit Toei on the ONE weekend the festival wasn't happening. Still had a blast at the park and got some yokai merch, but I NEED to visit Japan again someday and actually get to experience the festival

I still love the characters and the universe they're in, but it always leaves me wanting more time for the story to have proper pacing :( I don't hate it, but OOF the flaws are saddening

Stolas especially needed A LOT more character development and actual consequences for his mistakes before he got to where the show is now.

Every character arc feels rushed, too much happens off screen that the viewer is just supposed to accept, and the romance arc is VERY rushed and poorly developed, making the payoff not feel remotely earned.

As someone who's been a fan of the show for a few years now, I absolutely understand why many are so critical of it, and even I am in some aspects. To me, the shows biggest downfall is the sheer lack of proper pacing and character development.

Do I love him as a complex and well rounded character? Absolutely yes. Do I also think he deserves to be humbled on a regular basis? Absolutely yes.
