She/her. I'm a scientist, writer, and traveler who loves self-education and language learning. Interested in stoicism, zen, mindfulness, environmentalism and sustainable living. Book nerd. Lover of all things Star Trek, Star Wars, and Tolkien.
Between agreeing with Mike Pence today and now this headline from the DF, I want out of this scary timeline.

This is brilliant. Make it short and engaging so it can be spread over social media.

THIS. I was hysterically crying Nov. 6 but I woke up this morning and it was like "well I'm in my daily acts of microresistance era".

No mention of 8-tracks or laser discs? Also who remembers the VHS vs Beta wars?

I live in the mid-Atlantic and dinner used for the largest meal of the day and supper for the evening meal is still a thing. My guess is that the usage is probably everywhere with a large number of English settlers.

Am I weird for wanting blue MAGA? Can we have more rallies with Kamala and Tim where we get Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and affirmations that we deserve equal rights and healthcare?

I argued with a friend who thought my audiobooks were too childish. What ended the argument was me asking when her parents had read her the German edition of A Storm of Swords (we're both native English speakers). Challenging content is challenging regardless of the method of encounter.

I was not aware that Die Vossische Zeitung was digitized. Thank you for taking the time to post these translations. With the digital overwhelm that is keeping up with the news today, the situation is scary.

What I find interesting now is that some fanfics have become so popular (think Manacled) that cottage industries are devoted to binding them into book form. I think the publishing fad is to get access to that market. All of this seems very shaky from an IP perspective.

Yay AOC is here! I just joined a few days ago after not posting in the other place for years. So far it seems like a lot of normal people having good conversations? I'm not afraid to speak here. Looking forward to discussions on how to build communities!

ChatGPT can't decide if I'm a man or a woman but somehow thinks I live in a high-rise studio in NYC and really like spheres and kettlebell. I'm embarrassed that ChatGPT will feel catfished when we meet in person.

I have a MacBook pro, but honestly, I sometimes alternate for nostalgia for when Gateway was in their cowprint era or a full-on cyberpunk setup with three monitors, all black screen with green text, running Debian and Emacs.
