Yesterday: Witchcraft workshop (together with @allisonlemley.bsky.social and @femsista.bsky.social). And yes, students got tiny cauldrons with sweets. A long day, but really productive and fun!

The association's president, 2 members of the advisory committee, one of the organisers of #BritCult2025, and the unimpressed guy in the middle are looking forward to #BritCult2025!

Look how pretty she is! I received my author copies of /Practices & Narratives of Early Modern Piracy/ today (officially published by @amsterdamupress.bsky.social on Monday). Will post more about individual chapters (including my own) next week - in the meantime, do ask your library to order a copy!

So this happened: inaugural lecture on female pirates, done! I had great fun talking about Bonny & Read and strategies of queering in contemporary biofictions. "Is very good at pointing at pirates" should probably go on my resume from now on. 1/2
