Pretty shocking. And a missed opportunity to mention your superior intellect, your impressive stature and your all-round goodheartedness as things the world needs much more of. But I think you are sharing those in other ways.

Also I came face to face with Emily Maitlis as she got on the Tube one evening. She smiled and I smiled but I didn't try to speak to her. I thought she probably had enough of that sort of thing so there we were, just two middle aged women living our lives a metre apart. It felt like solidarity

The way subs are portrayed otoh is spookily accurate. Basically no one notices us until we make a terrible mistake
