Here are two stellar adult romance recommendations, the first set in the Victorian era by favorite author Mimi Matthews (@mimimatthewsesq). (2/3)

**The Apache, Navajo, and Hopi peoples are amazing and probably the most well-known Arizonan tribes, but if you live in the Phoenix metro area, the O'otham/O'odham were and are your closest neighbors. (7/8)

*I'm Native through my Dad's side of the family. Though arguably, I'm indigenous through my mom's Mexican heritage as well. (6/8)

Learn about the tribes that used to and in many cases, still do reside on the land you live on.** Give thanks for the ties that bind us and mourn those who are no longer with us.*** I know I will. (5/8)

I'm not here to guilt trip anyone as we head into the Thanksgiving weekend and the holidays. But I'd ask you to take a moment in this "Pilgrims and Indians" world to look around and really ask yourself about your preconceived notions about Natives. (4/8)

It was an honor to take part of my friend's special day. To watch as she emerged from a ceremonial ki (house) where she'd spent the last four days fasting. To dance with her. I'll cherish my memory of the experience forever.

But that's not all I am. It's not all any Native person is. (3/8)

When I was in high school, a friend and classmate asked me to dance at her coming-of-age ceremony. My Grandma Ida made me the beautiful blue outfit and my family cobbled together the prayer sticks you see me holding. This is probably the most "authentic" I've ever been. (2/8)

My second recommendation is the no less powerful middle grade story Find Her by Ginger Reno (@greno2291). Both deal with heavy, but necessary themes. Enjoy!

6) the kids' pumpkin stuffy got sick so they took care of it, and 7) fantastic sign found in my 7th grader's math teacher's room. Hope you have a pleasant autumn!

2) my spooky reads stack, halfway there! 3) the spooky read about Aztec vampires that I absolutely adored by master Silvia Moreno-Garcia (@silviamg.author), 4) & 5) aftermath of this month's earlier rainstorm--backyard flooding and water getting dangerously close to the house (we're fine), (2/3)
