I'm in the same boat (probably best to proceed with the 2024 solicitation in mind). The critical missing piece is when letters will be due. 2024 said the week before applic. deadlines, but apparently it had be re-opened for 2 more weeks due to many late letters. 2025 Portal's not open yet. Chaos!

Good news! (although it would be better if it were official.)

NSF still needs to hear from the community.

2025's awards saw unprecedented bias toward "priority areas" like AI, and away from other fellow-initiated basic research projects, especially in life sciences, psychology, and geosciences.
