Sleepy little Wake Forest, NC, home of xtian-nationalist Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, can now boast a Democratic Mayor (may the current Mayor-for-Life, Vivian Jones enjoy her retirement), as well as a Commissioner with dark skin and a “funny name.”

I just finished, and highly recommend.

I learned some things, was reminded of some things I’d forgotten, but my predominant feeling listening to VP Harris read is … what we’ve lost is incalculable; we could have truly been America the Great.

I’m left with some hope.

But mostly grief and regret.

And then, with breathtaking cynicism, they'll look straight at you and say it's the Democrats who are coming for your freedom. Small government? My fucking ass. This isn't small government. Thanks to MAGA, we had to call our medical practice and request the subscription be sent to our local pharmacy, but otherwise, getting it cost nothing but a little time.

This project took entirely too long, but I'm finally ready to put it in my craft space, stocked with painting supplies.

A friend discarded this cabinet when she moved, and I thought it had too much potential to haul it to the landfill.

Vintage Metal Cabinet, before refurbishing: dingy, rusted, white finish. Cabinet has bottom doors that open to two shelves. After pic of refurbished cabinet in a semi-gloss pinkish-plum. I spray painted the two door handles in Gold Leaf. I'm especially pleased with the two round handles I made for the drawer, using a vintage wooden thread spool, and vintage, pewter buttons with glass balls in the center, also sprayed in Gold Leaf.

After attending both the Wake Forest and Capital Blvd protests, we were too pooped to hit the downtown party.

The crowd was behind us, but I got a great shot of our Vietnam vet friend at the WF rally:
