4. Notre Dame’s axis isn’t straight: it tilts a bit to the left after the crossing. Many medieval cathedrals have this, esp in France. I think that that tilt is meant to symbolise / mimic Christ’s head tilting as he was unable to hold it up / had died on the Cross.
