This is why days like today and National Survivors’ Day are so important. They lift voices, honour journeys, and help build a future where every Survivor is recognised and supported.

Around the world, international days are used to educate the public, inspire political will, direct resources to where they’re needed most, and celebrate progress. They’ve been used long before the United Nations, and today they remain one of the most powerful tools we have to drive advocacy.

Awareness days matter.

They shine a light on issues that too often stay in the shadows, helping communities understand, acknowledge, and to take action. Days like these bring people together and spark important conversations. They remind us that change is possible when we stand collectively.

Today is a day for you, for us, for someone you love, and for someone you may never know.

Thank you for helping us create a nation that sees, hears, and stands with Survivors of sexual assault and institutional abuse. 💛

Today isn’t about bearing your scars to everyone — it’s about appreciating the journey that each of us has taken to be here today. We know Surviving is hard, and we want to express our gratitude for you getting this far.
