No one is going to kill over this, it's just another case of the GOP being penny-wise and pound-foolish, making bad policy that will hurt MN because the 'scary illegals' sound bites work for them. Rep. Hortman and her caucus calculated that it was worth letting this go in favor of other priorities.

Except 'free healthcare for illegals' just gave undocumented people the ability to buy into low-income insurance like other MN residents. Republicans turned it into a political issue that will actually cost everyone more as these immigrants are forced to go back to emergency rooms for care instead.
