Archaeology fanboy, volunteer at Butser Ancient Farm, dabble in some bronze casting in my shed. Akela.
Apologies for the August reference to the C word, but I've been playing with ideas for presents so as to give myself time to knock a few out. This was cast using an acorn from the tree around the corner. Not bad for my first try.

Read somewhere on here that there's now an AI remastered version of Woodie Guthrie singing Deportees which made me think of this ep in which Billy Bragg covers it brilliantly. Bought in Woolworths many, many years ago, and I didn't pay more than £1.99! also has a cover of Jeane by the Smiths on it

Had a nice walk to Danebury Hill Fort to soak up some Iron Age vibes. Totally forgot to take pictures until seeing this superb Lego reconstruction at Andover Museum. I do like small local museums.

The fruits of today's tinkering in my little foundry. It needs some tidying up, but hopefully it will be the torc of the town!

My Friday evening starts like this. Robert Smith's favourite band I read somewhere.

When you're younger you can eat what you like, drink what you like and still climb into your 26" trousers and zip them closed. Then you reach that age.... A long time ago for me sadly, but today's crate digging find is a beauty!

Spent some time wondering what this Friday pm was going to sound like, and this presented itself for consideration

I've been hoping to re-home an original of this but the prices are too steep, but lo! A repressing!

Friday cooking/baking soundtrack #1

This arrived today. Discovered via the louder than war "25 in 2025" list, and I'm really loving them

My first go at casting this little socketed spear head - using a sand core hardened with water glass. Flipping it over you can see something happened! My supposition is my core is too long and needed longer to harden

This called out to me loudest while looking for something to start the weekend with. Such a consistent artist/band.

Tonight's dinner prep comes with a big helping of the Drude himself

Friday night music to cook dinner to again. This was the first payoff from getting my kids streaming accounts - "Dad, I think you'll like this". I do, it's extraordinary

Looks like Openreach are employing Vikings, they came and left runes all over the pavement
