A formal postal ballot link was sent to SCC members’ preferred email addresses – this ballot is for consultation purposes, but a high return is essential if we are to push the council into a fair deal.

We have lodged a collective dispute with the council over this issue and are consulting with our members.

We have called upon the council to commit to protecting current employees through a 'no compulsory redundancies' agreement – looking instead for voluntary severance, mutually agreed redundancies and redeployment.
