Museum Registrar, cat lover, occasional walker and dressmaker. Yes you do recognise me from that other hellsite.
A powerful reflection on the essential role museums - and especially those that tell the history of conflicts - play for our audiences. Love the idea of collapsing time! youtube.com/shorts/e8LNL...
This is why museums are ESSENTIAL

Just seen that the wonderful Kirsty Archer-Thompson, curator at Abbotsford, has passed away. My thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues. I had the good fortune to work with her on several loans from NMS and she was always a joy to work with. Very sad news!

Listening to Proud Mary on the radio - ‘We never do anything nice and easy’ seems to be a motto for the museum sector. It’s good to challenge ourselves I suppose…keep those big wheels turning!

UK Folks.

If you're concerned about the catastrophic impact of generative AI on the creative industries & the theft of artists/writers creations, then you REALLY NEED to complete the below online consultation form.

This is your chance to say 'fuck off, this is not okay'

Copyright and Artificial Intelligence
This consultation seeks views on how the government can ensure the UK’s legal framework for AI and copyright supports the UK creative industries and AI sector together.

Day 8

He's back again. All the same shit as last time. Some jewelry, a houseplant. Mostly birds. So many birds.

Today's horrible addition: 8 cows and 8 women. I begged him to stop. I told him he can't give me people for Christmas. He winked and said he'd be back tomorrow

Some historic personalities keep cropping up throughout my career. Troublingly these include Rudolph Hess. In my first paid job in the sector I compiled factsheets on famous prisoners of the Tower of London, incl Hess. He crashed in Scotland. And now I’m sitting by the fuselage of his Messerschmidt.

Doing some due diligence for work. Found out that a husband and wife who once owned a loan item died within a day of each other. I’m not crying you’re crying.
