I’ve been rereading stuff for teaching: Perpetual Peace, Development as Freedom, and Activists Beyond Borders, along with some other stuff. Still listening to a bio of Lafayette.

I’ve finished the Very Short Introduction to Clausewitz. For course prep rereading have read Fearon’s Rationalist Explanations for War, Kant’s Perpetual Peace, and bits of Sen and Keck/Sikkink.

I enjoyed it a lot. I do think it would have been better titled Buddhism and ethics. Hadn’t realized eg how entangled Zen was with Japanese militarist aggression.

I’m still doing course rereading but have also read the very short introduction to Buddhist Ethics.

I’ve finished the Very Short Introduction to the History of Emotions and have started Native Nations and am going back to Against Decolonization. Also still working on course readings for teaching.

I’ve read How to be a Fascist: A Manual and the Very Short Introduction to Capitalism. Now listening to Desmond’s Poverty, By America. Also reading Tilly and Hobsbawm for course prep.

I’m almost done with Moorhead’s Mussolini’s Daughter. Have been rereading Mill’s On Liberty and Burke’s Reflections, also some Oakeshott.

Pachinko is one of my favorite shows - haven’t read the book tho. Definitely enjoyed what I’ve read of Pantsgruel

These six are the bread and butter of the next three weeks.

I’ve had a while so have tried to get a head start but am generally just trying to stay a bit ahead of class (80 minute lectures twice a week). But with my daughter this often involves finding auditions or pdf voice alouds with Google Docs notes which integrate into slides when I have a chance.

I’m doing course prep these days (Hobbes, Rousseau, Mill, Burke, Mussolini) but have also finished two more very short introductions: to abolitionism and to racism.

Ha I meant the book - I don’t think people sufficiently engage with the issue in question.
