I’ve finished the Very Short Introduction to Clausewitz. For course prep rereading have read Fearon’s Rationalist Explanations for War, Kant’s Perpetual Peace, and bits of Sen and Keck/Sikkink.

I enjoyed it a lot. I do think it would have been better titled Buddhism and ethics. Hadn’t realized eg how entangled Zen was with Japanese militarist aggression.

I’ve had a while so have tried to get a head start but am generally just trying to stay a bit ahead of class (80 minute lectures twice a week). But with my daughter this often involves finding auditions or pdf voice alouds with Google Docs notes which integrate into slides when I have a chance.

I’m doing course prep these days (Hobbes, Rousseau, Mill, Burke, Mussolini) but have also finished two more very short introductions: to abolitionism and to racism.
