#ICYMI, we released a major update to Surf yesterday. To celebrate (and just because it's Friday!), here's a thread of cool #SurfFeeds from our community that have also been published to @bsky.app. To do that for yourself, just hit the three-dot menu when you're in your feed.

You can make your feeds even better by adding filters. Just hit the Settings button at the top of your feed, then scroll down to Keep Feed on Topic, and select what you'd like to filter by. Sadly we don't have a Shakespeare topic, but you could filter by History or Literature.

Hi! The best way to do that would be to create your own custom feed with all the news feeds you're interested in as sources. Here's a quick guide!

Into sports? There's a Surf feed for that! Here are a handful we like, all followable here on @bsky.app. (Here's a quick refresher on how to publish your feeds to Bluesky).

Here's how to publish Surf feeds to @bsky.app so people can follow them here.

Surf is all about intentional browsing — which means you can have one feed for your news, and a different one for your leisure time. Want to make sure one doesn't creep into the other? Use the "exclude" function in your feed settings. Here's how.

If you’re a Surf tester and haven’t yet published your feed to @bsky.app, here’s a simple guide. We can't wait to see what you're making!

Allons-y! If you've used Surf to make a #CustomFeed that you're proud of, share it on social with the hashtag #SurfFeeds and we might feature it in the Cool Surf Feeds section of the app — like we did with @skivling.mastodon.nz.ap.brid.gy's fantastic #DoctorWho feed.
September 12, 2025 at 5:38 PM
If you've created a great #SurfFeed and want to share it even further, publish it to @bsky.app! Only the Bluesky native content will appear, but with all your curation rules such as exclusions and topicality. Here's how.
September 9, 2025 at 6:21 PM
You can find great #SurfFeeds to follow or include in your own feeds via our Surf Shop. Here's how to get there and what you'll see, plus a thread of feeds to follow.

Too much Trump in your Surf #CustomFeed? Hit "More excludes" in Settings and then simply ... exclude him. 👋
September 4, 2025 at 8:09 PM
What do you do if you want to create a topical #CustomFeed that includes people's social posts, but they talk about a whole range of unrelated things? Make it with Surf, then select "Keep feed on topic." It's powered by @flipboard.com's topic engine, so you'll see only the things you want to see. 🎉
September 3, 2025 at 8:54 PM
Yay! Thanks for testing with us Bryan! FYI, if your feed contains plenty of Bluesky sources, it's worth publishing it here — you retain all your curation (topicality, excludes etc) but everyone can see it, even without the Surf app.
September 2, 2025 at 11:37 PM
We don't have a pre-set setting for that, but you can hit "More Excludes" search for U.S. News and select that under "Topics" to get rid of all that. Maybe we should add it as a pre-set setting in a future release though — we have a feeling it would be popular!

You can do a lot with Surf — build #CustomFeeds that include RSS, YouTube, podcasts, @flipboard.com Magazines, social profiles and hashtags, keep them on topic, and publish them to @bsky.app. But a lot of testers appreciate the ability to simply do this.
August 26, 2025 at 9:00 PM
You can create #CustomFeeds about just about anything on Surf Social, adding sources like #RSS and #YouTube feeds, @flipboard.com Magazines and podcasts, including social profiles and hashtags, and filtering them to get only the content you want. Here's how.
