Kiryu is probably the next SEGA character in Smash 6, but I imagine SEGA would prefer Kiryu to be DLC as part of a Fighters Pass instead of the base game. I think base game's only 3rd Party will be Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden. Monster Hunter could be playable too if Hayabusa isn't alone.

Yeah Reggie Fils-Aime was the pushing force for announcements at Game Awards. He retired in 2019 and Doug Bowser didn’t continue it. We’ll probably just get Nintendo Switch 2 ads only. No Smash 6 at TGAs, it would be revealed in a Nintendo Direct. They won’t repeat another Bayonetta 3 in 2017.

SwitchForce said it’s a general Direct, they gotta date Metroid Prime 4 soon. Mario 40th anniversary will probably be part of the Direct than a separate Direct.

@clydemandelin.bsky.social It should be noted that unlike Link’s Awakening 2019 remake Super Mario RPG is a cult classic SNES game(Similar to EarthBound) that many thought would never return and the SMRPG remake developer ArtePiazza worked on some Dragon Quest remakes(Itoi loves Dragon Quest).
