Tbh a drop off would be weird for me! I think I’ve only ever done adoptions by pickup. One of our cats was a CVS parking lot hand off 😂

I just want to ad because of the replies: I was part of the original fandom when these were just OCs. I was there when she said she wouldn’t have fat characters because she didn’t like ugly people. I was right there!! I am not a random hater.

Yeah non tumblr users love to say that. And I’ll say that sometimes it’s true! But this was not one of those cases. It was a long ordeal with a lot of people sticking up for her and then being consistently shut down.

I cannot emphasize enough how thoroughly she was chased off of the platform and how little anyone I knew ever expected her to matter again. And now… here we are!

It’s mostly been scrubbed from the internet so I don’t bother with fighting this fight, I just remember and am confused by how things got to where they are when many other creators have continued to be ignored. I’d mostly gotten over it until it started saturating the internet again ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don’t have receipts on me but there were a lot of asks and AMA sessions where “why are all your pocs whitewashed and demons” and her response was consistently that it was a design choice because she found skin color variations unappealing. The fatphobia was also a major issue.

I am fully aware that people have just gotten over it. People have also gotten over Charlie Kirk being a hateful transphobe who wanted most of my friends dead. I try not to let people dictate my feelings on things.

I actually make a point of loving or being neutral to most things. But just because the populace has decided the music and style has excused the blatant historical and open bigotry of the creator doesn’t mean I’m going to get over how abusive and toxic she was to her initial fans.

We all are!! It’s good to get a reality check sometimes. Tbh as far as I’m concerned you’re one of the best character/fantasy/fat rep/color use artists currently working. Your art is a standard I compare to and also often comes to mind when I’m judging my own tummy. You are important and valued!

As a long long time reader and viewer of your art I’ll say that from an outside perspective I have always found your art more or less perfect. As years pass it gets more and more consistent and detailed, but it wouldn’t register to me as “wow this must be old it sucks”.
