Unless they are bartering for food they are literally paying sales taxes to survive. If they have a phone they pay FCC “wireless fees” which are taxes. You probably meant to say federal income taxes.

I don’t know why it is not getting much coverage. There was a similar one 3 years ago but the damage was less severe. Not too many Alaskan hurricanes before that point. Coincidentally the Pacific Ocean is warmer than it has been in recorded history.
