I doubt it changes anything for them after the change is made. Of course making the change requires effort but it's probably an automated pipeline that gets triggered when they want to release an update.

Ironically I had the exact opposite when I was experimenting with UDP punching, it worked if the clients were across different networks but not in the same local network.
