I might have finally found a PowerPoint replacement in Reveal.js. It’s not quite there yet but it feels like it’s the right place to start.

Can anybody explain why this UI element exists? I’m not a conspiracy-minded guy, but it really feels like every UI developer is deliberately trying to slow me down while pissing me off.

I think I’m a competent programmer but not a UI expert. Feels like I’ve GOT to be missing something.

@scottjohnson.zip Listening to CORE and you mentioned Satanic Panic stuff - if you haven’t, check out the book Dangerous Games by Joseph Laycock.

He’s a prof at TX State that studied TTRPGs in that era. Lots of crazy history.

@malwaretech.com Do you know what the challenges are implementing deniable encryption on mobile devices?

It *seems* trivial - like an emergency PIN boots into a pocket GUI. But I’m not sure why, say, iOS hasn’t implemented that yesterday…

Scanning news coverage, a lot of reports are treating it as though the big fuckup here is inviting a reporter to the chat—and of course it is. But the bigger fuckup is you don't have that kind of exchange on a platform that lets you make that mistake! juliansanchez.substack.com/p/but-their-...

@forrestvalkai.bsky.social This was amazing.

Do you know of anyone that’s run a seminar to teach creationists the scientific method so they can prove their beliefs?

I mean play it straight: help them develop testable hypotheses to prove their own pseudoscience.

Even in practical terms, establishing criteria for excluding trans people is like reading tea leaves.

From the relevant EO: “‘Male’ means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the small reproductive cell.”

It’s circular, meaningless, and completely un-testable.
Houston Sword Sports stands with our trans friends and neighbors and supports their right to compete in the events that best align with their gender identity.

also no shooters (too saturated), no MMOs (sorry- they never come out), sports games are on a down slide (thanks EA), you probably also shouldn’t do a AAA title.

Your best bet if you HAVE to make a game is to just make something we already liked.

But please don’t, we have too many remakes.

Big Hero 6 is one of my favorite animated films of all time.

There’s something about how they portray academic research. It’s over the top, but the characters are super relatable.
