I think it was with the intention of winning the face off. Both Vilardi and Lowry tend to be good in the face off circle, but they're also both slow. Barron and Scheifele might have been a better choice with Barron jumping over the boards for Connor after the FO win.

With the amount of ice time those three played today (especially the forwards) even without getting a shift in OT, I'm not sure this is sustainable (which we all kind of knew already).

And 2) was there contact? If yes to both, it's interference and doesn't matter how you got in the blue paint
