Can you provide incentives (different from benefit)? Gift cards are common tokens. People give a wide range. The key is threading the needle of what you can afford, what is enough to encourage participation, yet not so much as to be seen as coercion by regulators.

Research involvement may not always have direct benefit to participants and that’s fine. (eg “your involvement will not affect your care but may help us create xyz that may benefit patients in the future). Perhaps you could frame it that way?

The interpersonal work stuff- building teams, playing nice, managing up & down. Of course, a lot is context dependent, but some cases/principles/resources for problem solving would prob be helpful for many.
