Excellent news about heat pumps and plug-in solar! Thanks for continuing to work for California as you run for the house.

PG&E opposes self-installation of balcony solar and will try to block it. Residents need to contact their state reps and show support for the bill:

Great.

Now what about those 2.5 million additional housing units.

Just one example why for-profit healthcare is an oxymoron, United Healthcare has been paying nursing homes to keep patients needing hospitalization out of the hospital:

Major news outlets are not informing voters that Republicans were responsible for the end of the ACA subsidies. They're going to blame all of congress even though Democrats supported an extension. No wonder voters are voting against their interests. One example:

California has been trying for years to deregulate housing laws to boost production, but it has not worked.

I'm glad that Schiff recognizes that more is needed. Allowing developers to make a profit off of low income housing production through tax credits is necessary to motivate them to build.

Also Loomer:

“I think it's actually a really good thing that we're putting illegal aliens in cages and we're letting them know, ‘Hey, you're going to be eaten by alligators.’”

Loomer continued, “I apologize to the innocent animals who I’m comparing to these savage, subhuman illegal aliens.”

I hope Democrats are able to get this done. However, This report suggests that Democratic leadership knows that by preparing their own partisan stock trading ban that includes Trump and Vance, rather than supporting Anna Luna's bipartisan ban, neither bill will pass:

Jeffries Undercuts Congressional Stock Trading Ban - The American Prospect
A bipartisan solution was gaining momentum, but the House Democratic leader just issued his own bill that will prevent consensus.

Talarico used the episode to educate the public, not win arguments. Well done.

He mentioned the For The People Act. Although Democrats should probably campaign on affordability, addressing money in politics is critical and I hope it becomes a priority for more voters.

The health insurance industry made $371 billion in profits in 2024. Around 500 children are born every year in the US with duchenne muscular distrophy. Given the cost of a single treatment is $2 million, it would cost only $1 billion to treat all of them, less than 0.3% of their profits.

It's not going to spike healthcare costs for many, because many simply won't be able to pay.

Instead, it will result in around 50,000 additional deaths next year and leave many more with permanent disabilities.

Harvard professor Steven Levitsky also opposes the filibuster:

"If you win the most votes, not only should you win the election but you should be able to govern. Partisan minorities should not be able to systematically and permanently thwart legislative majorities."

Just gonna put this here for some perspective.
California keeps its title as having the nation's highest poverty rate
California has retained its position as having the worst poverty of any state, thanks to its very high living costs.

I couldn't find any information about Crockett's platform, nor Talarico's, on their respective websites. Please correct me if this information is available and I missed it.

It's important that they express their positions on important topics such as national healthcare and supreme court reform.

Interesting. This perhaps explains why Mamdani's humble goal of a few city-owned markets caused so many in the investor class to lose their minds. It would throw a huge wrench into their ability to price fix.

The public should not be reliant upon nor trust a private company for this information anyways. What's needed is a national law that requires disclosure of this information to all buyers. Some states currently have no such requirement.

Since Newsom took office in 2018, housing production has been trending downward.
