I didn't leave the exams since he got hospitalized near the end, and since it was Covid, visitors weren't even allowed in the hospital anyways, so there was no point in leaving the exams and coming home when I wouldn't get to see him anyways, my exams ended just the next day after it happened.

Every day it was a roller coaster of he's getting better, no he's getting worse and so on. At least his suffering ended.

Exact same thing happened with my Grandfather, it was during the 2nd wave of Covid, I even had my 2nd year of College's professional exams going on. I remember the day it happened, I had my Pathology Practicals and Viva going on, it was during Lunch break when he finally passed away.

The initial hook with how the world works and how people live accordingly is far more interesting than what the twist ends up being. The final story is good sure, but the fact that none of the start actually matters. Joseph Anderson has the same words in his criticism.

It's ending is one of the greatest endings I've ever seen, and the fact that it's anime OP, more than half a decade ago foreshadowed so much of what was going to happen is insane. It was such a mindfuck ending for a comedy series too, and yet it managed to work.

I don't care what it started off as, the best role playing games offer, player build, choices, multiple ways to tackle situations.m at the minimum.

Of course my single reply doesn't properly apply to every single JRPG, Persona and SMT games to me have plenty of role playing, E33 doesn't. I don't care bout FF or DQ so I'll agree to being wrong if I am. E33 is a poor RPG, especially compared to KCD2. Even Persona games don't have enough RPG in it

Good for you, it won't though, E33 wouldn't have won if it was made by a Japanese dev. Xenoblade 4 could have the greatest narrative in gaming history and people will still call it "Ahh Diddy blud weebshit".

Sure to everything, but when you win best RPG, I hope that the game will at least give you dialogue options, player choices and what not. I know JRPGs don't really tend to do that, but that's why I don't think they're better RPGs than western RPGs. Better game overall maybe.
