Before he can react, she uses her claws to slice across his neck, then she sucks until she feels the holy light hit her tongue. She feels his grip on her, now. He could easily break her arm. It’s fine. His angelic Grace is hers. But she immediately lets go, screaming in pain. Her soul and the Grace don’t mix, clearly. Raguel: You devil! And then he turns into dust. Aria: Blood pours from her eyes like tears. She can’t see well. Can’t think. If she screams louder, will someone hear her? She can’t even speak. She might have to spend the night in the dirt. Perhaps that’s better. If she crawls, she might end up making it to her room. Her ears are ringing. Too many voices at once. All speaking in a language she knows far too well. The first language she knew. She attacked an Archangel. So naturally, the other angels are calling for retribution. Justice for their comrade. S—SHUT…. She vomits into the dirt. She needs help. So desperately. She can only hope somehow, someone will come to her aid. And if not, she will be left here. Every movement is like someone is setting her body on fire. She pulls out her phone, barely able to make out what’s on her screen. She somehow unlocks her phone. “Help. In woods” That’s all she can manage to type. Then a voice silences the voices of the angels. A voice she knows all too well. God: Your punishment will be simple. If you are to remain here, you will do Heaven’s work. Every month, for three days, you will suffer an insatiable thirst. No matter how much you drink, you will still need more. It may drive you mad. And perhaps, you may take down some of Heaven’s enemies. How does she fix something like this? She has become His weapon, whether she wants to or not. Aria: No. I won’t do it! Fuck you! I’ll find a way to fix it. I’ll manage it. Or perhaps I’ll be an even better god than you. You know what choices I’ll make, anyway. You’re “all knowing,” aren’t you? I’ll curse you for eternity. I will not be your weapon! I wouldn’t do it then, and I’m certainly not doing it now! God: What do you think your loved ones will do when they discover you are a monster again, Aria? Aria: You’re the monster! I’ll cross that bridge when I get there! Or smite me now. And then her throat starts to burn. Someone may find her in this state, and she can’t text again to deter anyone from looking for her. She won’t lay a finger on anyone in this state. If she has to suffer for three days, then so be it. The tricky part is her temper gets worse when she’s thirsty. And locking her in the dungeons is useless, because of her ridiculous in-human strength. But perhaps she should still suggest it, anyway. To keep everyone safe from God’s plan.

Aria: She isn’t herself. Her eyes are blazing red as she begrudgingly folds her hands together. Why! Father, why have you forsaken me? Not even Ikkesh had this happen to their wings. Ikkesh. She’s so angry she thinks she might stay this way. I can’t be that bad! Give them back! Please! Please! She hates begging like this. Begging to the Creator that tossed her aside then sentenced her to suffer. Why did you create me! Why? I don’t understand! Smite me, then! Fucking do it, you coward! Her throat burns from screaming. She doesn’t care if anyone hears her, or if her feathers are found in the closet. Or if anyone sees her wings as they are now. Resembling a bat. I hate you! I hate you! You made me just to torture me! She can’t cry in this state. Perhaps that’s a good thing. She feels a shift in the air around her. She tries to focus on this, looking around until her eyes meet an angel. An angel from Heaven. Their appearance is more humanlike. What do you want? Raguel: I am here to answer why your wings have changed, Aria. I am Raguel. Aria: Raguel. She knows who he is. I don’t want you. I want him! Raguel: You ought to express gratitude that your question is being answered at all, Aria. Aria: Her nostrils flare. Raguel: You cannot accept this is what you chose for yourself. You blame God, Ikkesh, Noctis Terrore…the question is, why have you chosen this? Aria: Are you kidding me? I blame myself all the time! I never think I’m good enough! I mess up constantly! Chosen this? He tossed me out of Heaven for questioning an order. I didn’t want to fight. He created Lucifer and free will! He created this! He’s all knowing! He— Raguel: Enough. You had opportunities to right your wrongs. You went deeper into your sinful life. You embrace what you are. Why you cling onto your feathers and name, is something I cannot comprehend. You are not an angel anymore. You are far beyond such things. Aria: Why did Ikkesh get to keep their feathers! Why! They’re worse than me! They— Ikkesh was the Fallen that tormented her. They wanted her to finish her fall and join them in Hell. They even enlisted help from another Fallen, Noctis Terrore. Raguel: They are not worse than you. The reason you lost your wings is because you’ve been drinking from people like a demon. Your wings simply match those actions. Ikkesh was a terrible abomination, and they suffered the consequences. I will not do this dance with you, Aria. You are out of control. You are lucky He has chosen not to smite you. You certainly deserve it. Aria: She can’t even think before her increased agility has her zip towards him. His throat feels solid around her hands. Her claws dig in, but no blood comes out. But she knows what might. She just doesn’t know what could happen to her.

🦇Part One Conent Warning: bones cracking🦇
She wakes up from her nap, her wings burning with pain. Did she sleep on them? She doesn’t realize a decent amount of her feathers are littered around her. The pain is waking her up rather quickly, but she’s still in a daze. She heads to the bathroom, more feathers falling silently on the floor. She enters the bathroom, when her gaze meets her reflection. What the fuck? Her beautiful feathers. Why are most of them gone? Is this— Her unspoken question quickly gets answered when she feels a shift in her wings. The rest of her feathers slip off her wings like it’s nothing. She hears a crack in the bones and she quickly closes the door. She sits in child’s pose, because she doesn’t know what’s happening. Her wings need to breathe. They hurt. It’s not the worst pain she’s ever felt, but the loss hurts more than the changing bones. Will she never have her feathers again? Why is this happening? She cries, grieving this connection to her angelic roots. Her sobs are loud, her agony echoing around her. Her name is the only thing, now. The name she chose to reclaim. She can’t see straight. She’s livid, nauseous. Why? Why now? Why when she slept? No warning. No hint that it would happen. Her rapid breathing makes her sound like a rabid animal. Her soul burns with hatred. It’s almost too much. Once she’s sure her wings are done, she unlocks the door, looking for a garbage bag. She shoves her feathers inside, not knowing what to do with them. She used to give them away to people. Something so special to her. She puts the bag in the closet for now, then leaves. She missed a few feathers. They decorate a spot on the bed. Ahsoka, her cat, stares at them.
