It's also not even really about the patrons' "ease." A big driving factor for our library system was reducing conflict between patrons and employees. Employees who get paid $18/hour shouldn't have to deal with patrons screaming over a $1 fine & it's time better spent doing literally anything else.

I bought one pair a couple months ago that are real denim, heavy af, and I love them. But I can't find more like them in a wash I like. These new ones are thin & a little stretchy. They're going back.
