I have the week off of work so it's time to do my DragonCon prep which today meant a stash build of Past Pearl which has been a dream cosplay since her reveal and I'm so glad to finally make her happen!!

Swoosh test 🫰 all of this is fabric from my stock--I'm trying to not buy new fabrics as best I can because I truly have an unruly amount. The bones are either cut applique (the lacier skulls) or leftover skil from my wedding that I drew and free motion embroidered

I finished with enough time that I busted out a pot lid, too! I knew I was gonna use a monstera leaf cutting that never rooted as my korok leaf "sword" and thought an equally shitty shield would be good lmao

This is where the main piece build photos stop oops. The outer arm piece and shin pieces are p much built the same, fabric and interfacing sandwiches and more satin stitching, ribbons and snaps to hold in place.

The ARM THING! another huge thanks to past me. I just drew it out on stabilizer & a thing fabric, satin stitched, cut out the negative spaces, and burned the edges to seal everything. A *little* itchy but easy to ignore once on. I used variegated thread for pretend depth. Work smarter not harder 🤌

I found this perfectly dyed fox face at a renfaire in June of 2023?? And already knew I was going to be building this so I snatched it and I'm so glad bc it's perfect. The base is a baseball cap with the brim cut off. The blupee "antlers" are wire, aluminum foil, and foam clay. Gem eyes. 🤌

The pants were easy peasy because I'd figured out the shapes so far in advance. The mockup was my lining and required no adjustments. The second photo shows the cinched pant leg vs just the loose one on the right

Aside from the under-most bodysuit which I have zero progress photos of, the tabard was my first main project. It's a sheer, shimmery fabric on top of a darker fabric & a shit ton of pinning and satin stitching in a bunch of different widths.
