What a lot of people are not thinking about is that once this starts, it will not end with "immigrants." Once Trump knows the country will largely tolerate these detainment/concentration camps, he will start on other groups he doesn't like, and there are many. He doesn't have to have a valid reason.

The goal of an authoritarian regime is to make it functionally illegal to oppose them. This is Trump’s goal: he wants to end freedom of speech and free and fair elections.
