Igor Vunderink also presented a poster titled “Implementing an ATP-battery in N. oceanica for improved photosynthesis“. It focused on the genetic implementation of an ATP-battery in #microalgae that could lead to improved microalgal growth and lipid production.

Áureo Cutillas Farray presented his poster “SUNPERFORM – Implementing a synthetic carbon fixation route in Nannochloropsis oceanica” where he detailed how he and his team are engineering synthetic pathways that could improve photosynthetic efficiency and net #CarbonFixation in this microalgae.

We opened with a seminar by Peter Schall on nanocrystal fluorescence. Then heard from each partner on what they have been working on, from integration of synthetic CO2 fixation pathways in microalgae, to foils that can coat challenging geometries, and the sustainability assessment of our approach.
